Farm details

25h farm at 1750-1900m. The farm has their own processing infrastructure and follows water saving strategies, natural fertilizers for the plants and from 2023 all energy for the processing plant will come from solar panels.

 Producer info

Edwin Noreña is a 4th generation farmer and passionate about innovation. Half of his career in coffee he dedicated to studying and experimenting with specialty coffee. Besides his own harvest he also collects and processes coffee from other smallholder farmers from around in the area.

Processing ‘’Carbonic maceration’’

The cherries are harvested above 23 degrees Brix before getting soaked in water for 4 hours. The initial fermentation begins with a carbonic maceration for 72 hours with mossto (the juice made by compressing coffee cherries). Following that comes another 72 hours of carbonic maceration fermentation for 72 hours with mossto and fruits. The coffee is then sun-dried on African beds for 25 days until the humidity reaches 10.5%. Finally, the coffee undergoes humidity stabilization for 8 days inside a warehouse, and is then stored in grain pro bags.

Local Delivery

Now offering local delivery by cargo bike in Amsterdam handled by Peddler.
Same day delivery often possible during weekdays. Just fill in your address and choose Local Delivery at check out. Good to know is that they operate on most days but will not deliver when the weather is dangerous or if there are other external factors delaying their delivery schedules.

Peddler will attempt 3 deliveries before returning the order to the roastery, so please make sure you are available or have a spot they can drop the package at.

If the delivery is returned to us we will have to incur shipping costs for any alternative method used to ship your coffee.

Shipping

All online orders are packed and delivered from our Shop in Amsterdam East. Cut off for dispatch is 15h (local time). We aim to ship on the day of ordering.

We send out coffee which is roasted 1 to 10 days prior.

Domestic Shipping

NL orders are shipped with PostNL and expected to arrive the next day.
Orders will be fulfilled and shipped out Monday to Friday.

European Shipping

International orders are shipped through PostNL or DPD. Depending destination country shipping time may vary. Postal carriers are operating during business days.

Delayed or lost shipments

Sometimes packages get lost which is super frustrating! If you are waiting for your shipment for very long, please reach out to us at order@rumbaba.nl or respond to the mail with your order details. We will start an inquiry with our parcel system and the shipper. We maintain a 2 week cool-down period during which we hope that the shipper suddenly delivers your package after all. If it does not turn up, we will send you a full refund including any shipping costs.

Pick-Up

Orders can be picked up at one of our shop locations in Amsterdam.
Please indicate your preferred pick up location when checking out.
You will receive an email when your order is ready for pick-up.

Our East location usually has the order ready within a day for pick up.

Elandsgracht might take up to two days.
