This experimental micro-lot was among the finalists of the first ever Ethiopian Cup of Excellence back in 2020.

Abeyot Ageze and Mebrahtu Aynalem, with their established company Boledu, have managed the Halo Beriti washing station since 2017. It’s one of their first and most cherished projects. In a region known for top-tier coffee, Halo Beriti always manages to stand out, winning multiple awards and working with 1,250 smallholders from the area. Their quality is no accident. Boledu invests in training, shares profits and rewards standout farmers by processing their lots separately.

For this micro Lot Boledu works with selected farmers before harvest, offering hands-on training to ensure consistent picking. Since most farms are small, cherries are combined by location (same soil, altitude, varieties, etc.) and picked in stages, always within a two-day window, to create a lot with real character and uniformity.
