This coffee is truly unique in Rwanda, where most coffees are traditionally grown by smallholder producers across many small farms. Every cherry is produced on a single estate, allowing the producers to carefully manage every aspect of cultivation, from inputs, pruning, and mulching to harvest timing. This level of control creates greater opportunity for selective picking and sorting, ensuring that only the highest-quality cherries are chosen for processing.

Shaped by exceptional terroir, this coffee benefits from a rare combination of volcanic soils, high elevation, and the cooling influence of Lake Kivu. The dramatic temperature shift between warm days and cool nights slows the maturation of the cherries, resulting in one of the most lekker coffees we’ve had in a while. Sweet, with layered fruit character and refined complexity.

Keep your coffee fresh

Store your coffee airtight in a clip-sealed bag or metal tin to protect it from air and light. Let your coffee rest for 2 weeks after roasting to degas. Then it reaches its brewing flavor peak up till 8 weeks. If you won’t use it within two months, you can portion and freeze your coffee to maintain freshness.
